Kens Contracting is a small company in Dallas Texas. We started out working on rental properties in 1999. We then added little jobs here and there leading into full home remodels, kitchens/ bathrooms the works. We had done some framing and pitching roofs along the way along with additions. One thing led to another and we tore a house all the way down to its foundation, level to the ground. Next thing I know we were building houses back, bigger and more beautiful, got several more to follow and it just escalated into what we are today. I over-simplified that but it just seemed like everything fell into place. I personally got on the internet, read books, watched other contractors and made a few mistakes along the way. I was once told that "if you aint making mistakes boy you aint learnin'." I sure took that to heart and did everything along the way to only make a mistake once. I am sure some of my customers can vouch for me having said "I hate doing things twice". Most everyone can look back and say they remember a specific thing that they did well. My personal was the house we built on Park Lane. I think I was just in a groove. There was no such thing as no or stop. We pushed right on through checking and double checking our work along the way. I really feel like I can pat myself on the back and say if I never accomplish anything else, I can always go back and look at that house. Standing over a humming saw the smell of pine and cedar, gently guiding that next cut to be used. If you dont know that feeling that overwhelms you I truly hope you get it, in whatever it is that is your passion.
